The on-road ride is terrific, sharp edges are rounded and light to medium duty offroad escapades become completely controlled and uneventful. Most Carli videos were filmed with the Pintop kit showcasing the extremes of its capability.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Pintop is a Jack-of-all-trades system from which every Super Duty owner would benefit. Raising the Super Duty Platform then adding the 2.5” diameter shocks (55% more piston surface area than a 2.0” shock) will support the argument that these trucks should come equipped with 2.5” shocks from the factory. The higher end systems will get you more off-road capability, yes, and even a bit more on-road. The premium paid for these systems; however, doesn’t compare to the on and off-road ride quality per dollar spent on the Pintop. For these reasons, it will likely remain our best seller for years to come.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Pintop system boasts Carli specific, blueprinted, King 2.5” shocks on all four corners. In an effort to provide customers with the best product, we designed a custom piston to determine proper base flow rates to ensure the shock works well in the heavy duty truck platform; we then tuned the shocks around the custom pistons based on the only thing that matters to us, seat-of-the-pants feel. We round off ALL our King shocks with shafts machined and polished from a solid piece of 17-4 Stainless. Unlike King’s standard shafts, there is no coating to wear off, weather can’t hurt them and if there is a small chip, you can round the edges with emery cloth to ensure the seal housing isn’t damaged as they’re not brittle like the stock, hardened shafts. The shocks are finished with King oil good to -55° F. Note that all King shocks are built with a plated steel body. If subjected to inclement weather for extended periods, we recommend wrapping your shocks in 3M to provide a moisture barrier that’s replaceable.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe truck will sit 3.5” higher in the front and have more wheel travel thanks to the lighter rate Carli Coil Springs. The Adjustable Track Bar centers the front axle and Stainless Brake Lines firm up braking and ensure there is enough line for the newfound travel. To round off the front end, we include Caster Shims to tighten the steering and a fabricated, High-Clearance Bump Stop Drop to keep the springs clear from the contacting the factory bump stop. The front Sway Bar Geometry will need to be addressed with your choice of a Sway Bar Drop Bracket (more economical, maintains the factory Sway Bar End Links) or our Extended Sway Bar links with relocation brackets – a FAR more robust option. For those seeking the most possible ride quality, we offer our full replacement Torsion Sway Bar that lightens the most neglected spring rate – the factory sway bar. From the Torsion Sway bar upgrade, one can expect a far more compliant feel and increased articulation with only slightly more body roll. The replacement End Links and Torsion Sway Bar are the only options compatible with a snow-plow bracket.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe rear can be outfitted with a replacement Full Progressive Spring Pack (reduces capacity to a “light” ¾-ton) or factory leaf-pack modifying Progressive Add-a-Pack (eliminates the factory block and maintains payload capacity; pairs with a rear bump stop drop). This is where the F250 and F350 are a bit different. Since 2008, the main spring packs on these two trucks is different; the F250 has a lighter rate spring pack (2 main leaf springs) than its 350 counterpart (3 main leaf springs). The F250 Add-a-Pack equipped systems are a nice improvement over stock; the F350 with the Add-a-Pack is still very stiff in the rear as the main pack doesn’t move much unless loaded. We recommend the Full Replacement Leaf Spring packs for both trucks but especially the F350 given the super-stiff factory springs. If you own an F250 built with the Tremor or high-capacity tow package, these are equipped with an F350 rear spring and should avoid the add-a-pack, as well. If capacity is a concern, an aftermarket airbag system should be installed to complement the Full Progressive Leaf Springs to restore the F350 capacity. We recommend a system that will allow the airbags to disconnect from the lower mount during suspension cycling to ensure you’re able to take advantage of all your rear suspension travel. The Full Progressive Leaf Spring Pack will shift the axle slightly forward in the wheel well to ensure maximum tire clearance for a 37” M\/T at full compression.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThis system will not achieve a proper rear-high stance without the installation of the Add-a-Pack or Full Progressive Leaf Spring Pack.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eWithout any rear option, an F250 will sit about rear-low. If a Carli rear spring option is not purchased, one can install the taller 2017-19 Ford 3\" rear block for a leveled stance but rear ride quality will not be optimized (Factory Block PN: HC3Z-5598-A and HC3Z-5598-B)\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWheel and Tire:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eFactory Wheels SHOULD NOT be run with oversized tires. They’re known to rub the radius arm, sway bar and most concerning – Brake Lines. Factory tires and factory wheels will work without issue but we DO NOT recommend running oversized tires on factory wheels. On our 2.5” Ford Systems, we recommend 17”-18” wheels, no more than 9” wide with 5.5” of backspacing with Carli Fabricated Radius Arms or 5” Backspace with factory arms; 5” will require a bit more trimming. Tires, 37×12.5” will fit with some trimming; 35” will likely fit without trimming. The more rubber, the better the small bump compliance will be at proper inflation pressures. So, it’s no surprise that it’s the most neglected ride-oriented component on the vehicle as people fail to look past the front coils and rear leaf springs when looking to “soften” the factory ride. The factory sway bar is essentially a brace locking the axle to the frame. It is setup to perform at the vehicle’s max load so it can be a bit blunt when the truck is not fully laden. This is where the F250 and F350 are a bit different. Since 2008, the main spring packs on these two trucks is different; the F250 has a lighter rate spring pack than its 350 counterpart. The F250 Add-a-Pack equipped systems are a nice improvement over stock; the F350 with the Add-a-Pack is still very stiff in the rear as the main pack doesn’t move much unless loaded. We recommend the Full Replacement Leaf Spring packs for both trucks but especially the F350 given the super-stiff factory springs. If capacity is a concern, an aftermarket airbag system should be installed to complement the Full Progressive Leaf Springs to restore the F350 capacity. We recommend a system that will allow the airbags to disconnect from the lower mount during suspension cycling to ensure you’re able to take advantage of all your rear suspension travel. The Full Progressive Leaf Spring Pack will shift the axle slightly forward in the wheel well to ensure maximum tire clearance for a 37” M\/T at full compression.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch6\u003eWheel and tire fitment:\u003c\/h6\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFactory Wheels SHOULD NOT be run with oversized tires. People often question our lift heights asking when we’re going to go bigger – short answer, in the 1500s, I don’t see it happening. Our goal is to optimize the platform’s capability, not challenge it. Going higher requires addressing steering \u0026amp; axles while accommodating larger tires (37s). Addressing steering means it’ll never steer like it did factory again, no matter how you drop\/space it – you’ll never match the angles perfectly. The axles introduce more complications possibly requiring knuckles, differential drop brackets etc. all to maintain CV angles. As for the 37″ tires… They’re beasts (most nearly 100lbs\/tire). We keep to these on the 2500\/3500 for a reason, their front ends can handle it. No matter how high you lift your Ram 1500, you’re still going to be turning the tires with the same tie-rod ends. Sure, we could make better tie-rod ends, drop brackets, etc. as well but that’s getting into the weeds building parts to handle lift height vs. gaining performance and again – we wanted to take this platform, maximize wheel travel within the capability of the factory infrastructure (replace ONLY what’s necessary to optimize performance) and utilize a 35″ tire with minimal trimming. This ensures that every dollar you throw at our system nets performance gain and subsequently, value.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI digress; the front coilovers are, of course, Carli specific. Several limitations and mounting constraints resulted in a coilover that’s NOT adjustable for more lift height. The 600lb rate on which we landed with the spec’d preload provides exactly 2.5″ of front lift on the Hemi, 2″ on the EcoDiesel (non-Rebel). Another 1\/2″ turn of the collar will result in coil bind. That said, there’s a decent amount of room to thread the collar back. Conversely, the coil would remain under tension even if the collar were to be backed off to the top-cap (i.e., if a rear-high stance is preferred). The way the coilover comes out of the box is the height at which we recommend running it and to what we tuned; again, 2.5″ of front lift. To the end user, that means these CANNOT be preloaded to make up for lost height if you’re adding weight (large bumper\/winch) to the front end of the truck.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn the rear, we swap in our multi-rate coil spring. This went through several iterations. The 2019+ came with an all new spring that had us back to the drawing board. We wanted a spring that would maximize suspension travel while providing a supple yet predictable ride on and off the pavement. Further, we didn’t want to deviate too far from the factory load capacity. Our rear springs are shot-peened \u0026amp; pre-set for longevity of the coil (it won’t ever sag), then powder coated to ensures the finish quality is as good as the spring’s performance.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis multi-rate coil provided 1 -1\/4″ of rear lift on our Hemi test truck and 7\/8″ on the EcoDiesel. The initial, softer rate is blocked out at ride height. This is NOT designed to be some super soft on-road rate – think of this as a “tender spring”. We wanted predictability in ride and handling so the truck will run on the 2nd rate unless the rear axle droops (offroad). Further, when loaded, it ensure sag is not exaggerated by initial collapsing of a softer rate. Take it in the dirt and, once the axle droops, the initial rate opens to keep the coil tight to its mounting perches while the extended travel shocks are pushed to the bottom of their longer stroke.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eNOTE\u003c\/strong\u003e: We offer three springs for the 2019+ Ram 1500 Platform. The standard Ram 1500 spring included with the 1500 system is ONLY applicable for non Rebel\/Off Road Package trucks without the Ram Box of Multi-Function Tailgate. The Rebel Has it’s own springs included with the Rebel system; these will work for standard 1500s with Ramboxes\/MFT OR small constant loads. Lastly, we’re offering an HD Spring that will work for Standard 1500s with Ram Box\/MFT or around 700lb constant loads or Rebels with Rambox\/MFT or 500lb bed-loads.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eExtended  travel King 2.5″ Shocks round out the rear of this system. That’s right, NO track bar drop on the 2019+. Again, where it’s not needed, we don’t include it. The redesigned factory track bar position and length of the 2019+ platform showed no increase in rear yaw (side to side movement of the rear axle) through the extended travel stroke so we felt no need to address it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe end result? More travel, more comfort, PERFECT stance (1\/4″ higher in the rear than the front when measured at the pinch weld – NOT wheel wells) and 35″ tire fitment.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLastly, wheels and tires… These trucks fit metric equivalent 35s better than standard as they’re often offered in more narrow width requiring less trimming. The trade-off, these normally ride stiffer. This customer elected to run a Nitto Ridge Grappler in a 295\/70r18 – roughly, 34.5″ x 11.5″. They fit like they were made for this truck and lift.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis tire required VERY little trimming to cycle on these Method NV 18×9, -12mm Offset (4.5″ backspace). A 35″ x 12.5″ equivalent would require slightly more trimming but, in our experience, the more square profile rides better. With more customer purchasing these “hybrid” style tires (Toyo R\/T, Nitto Ridge Grappler, etc.) that extend tread life often at the expense of ride quality, we like to milk every ounce of comfort we can from the wheel and tire combo. We still recommend All Terrains or Mud Terrains as they’re not nearly as hard as these hybrids and advise customers to keep to standard sizes and proper pressures. In the 1500s, 35×12.5″ Tires on wheels that are 8.5″-9″ wide with 4.5″ backspacing (slightly negative offset). Cold tire pressure should be kept at 35psi in the front, 30 in the rear for optimal ride quality when unloaded. Stock wheels and tires WILL fit this lift but larger tires will NOT fit on stock wheels – they’re too offset and will rub the Carli Control Arms.
